Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is reVyven?

ReVyven is a fictious word, but don't be fooled, we are very serious about what we do.

Our goals are to:

  • reconnect people & maintain a connection to the natural world,

  • educate the community on pressing environmental issues by working with local leaders/organizations and

  • inspire people to make actionable change on a local level.

We believe that all individuals are capable of remarkable things. You don't need a fancy title or letters behind your name to be passionate about what is transpiring in the world.

  • We want to connect with the local community.

  • We facilitate education by working with organizations & start-ups who share their knowledge on how to make change at the local level.

  • We roll up our sleeves & get to work.

I'd love to attend a hike. What can I expect from a local hike?

Our hikes bring people together for a local hike in nature. Our routes will vary, as will the terrain. All hikes will be accessible by public transportation, unless otherwise stated.

Everyone is welcome to attend, but please be punctual.

Some of our hikes will focus on particular topics or themes. For example, we may cover forest bathing on one hike and environmental changes occurring in nature on another.

Hike are designed to keep us connected to the natural world & impart knowledge on particular topics.

Heck, we might even get our hands dirty and spruce things up a bit by removing trash from the trails.

Who are the speakers at the workshops & what topics will be covered?

We bring individuals & organizations together from the local community to share, educate & inspire. Each speaker will be an environmental gamechanger or business developer in a particular field or area.

For example, if our theme happens to be trees, we will invite someone from the community who is working on restoring, planting and/or maintaining biodiversity in Switzerland.

Topics for workshops:

It is our aim to cover a diverse range of topics for our workshops & talks.

Topics may include

  • Local Issues

What is the cancellation policy for events that I secure a ticket?

When you register for one of our events, we look forward to seeing you there. Should you have to cancel for any reason, we ask that you gift your ticket to a friend or family member. We promise, they will get something out of each event.

If you must cancel your space at a weekend retreat & if you do not cancel within one month of your stay, we ask that you send a suitable replacement. We secure a select number of rooms in advance and order meals, it is important for all of our guests to make a commitment to attend.

So, to put it simply, you will be responsible for the cost of your room for the two nights should you not attend.

Who is best suited to attend the weekend retreats?

This is a great question! Because our weekend retreats are in the Swiss Alps, we encourage individuals with general hiking experience to join us. Some of the locations, are remote, meaning they are accessible by foot & helicopter only. A moderate level of fitness is required for such retreats. We will be hiking on white-red-white trails (T3) and will hike over different terrain, in all weather. Elevation gain is to be expected.

Men & women are encouraged to attend our first retreat of the year. Our second retreat is exclusively offered for men, while our third retreat is ideal for women.

Accommodations:

The team at reVyven will make all of the reservations and meal requests on your behalf.

We stay in simple, yet functional mountain inns/hotels.

Rooms are typically shared with one other person, unless we secure a bunk bed room for our team.

Meals are delicious, yet simple. While accommodating vegetarians on these trips is easy to do, vegan diets are more difficult for the mountain inns/hotels to accommodate. Please stipulate your dietary needs at the time of registration.

We try to ensure a shower is available onsite, however, should this not be possible, we will let you know in advance.

To determine of the weekend retreat is a good fit for you, please review our survey. If you answer no to more than three questions, perhaps a local hike is better suited to your needs.

Individuals who attend the weekend retreats are solely responsible for their own safety & should have the necessary insurances should an emergency transpire.

If I am a founder or run an organization, how do I get involved with reVyven?

First of all, thanks for considering us to share your ideas. Please know that we are only working with organizations/companies that are working hard to combat climate change. We aren't interested in greenwashing & the unnecessary production of flashy goods, chemicals, and hazardous materials. Glad that's out of the way.

We are interested in organizations & companies that are tackling real life issues with creative solutions.

We want to meet people who are changing the norm with solutions that help & do not hinder the planet or it's people.

We would love it if you idea was transferable to another region or area to impart change somewhere else in society, either by you or someone else looking to make a positive impact.

But, we also realize that no solution is fool proof and no one organization is perfect. We are not aiming for perfection, but we strive for positive, useful action!

Can I sponsor an event?

We are always looking for sponsors to host events and purchase coffee & healthy snacks.

Note on Integrity

We aren't interested in greenwashing, or flashy merch, just the good stuff from genuine people doing their best to help make positive changes when it comes to the environment.

If that's you, please let us know!
